The Christian family is ordinarily the first experience of the Christian community and the primary environment for growth in faith. Because it is the church of the home, the family provides a unique locus for catechesis. It is a place in which the word of God is received and from which it is extended. Within the Christian family, parents are the primary educators in the faith and the first heralds of the faith with regard to their children

Does this Bishop's statement cause you to wonder, How am I supposed to do that? Does it make you question whether or not you are doing the right thing? If it does, then Raising Faith-Filled Kids is for you.
This is a study and discussion group for anyone who is raising children and want to give them a firm foundation in the Catholic faith. It will help to foster the faith formation of children through ordinary events of daily life, and will help parents to feel secure in their own ability to contribute to the religious education of their children.
The sessions will be held every other Tuesday nights from 7-9 pm in the Pastoral Center, beginning on September 25th. Cost for the course will be $20.00 to cover the cost of the books.
