Our parish encourages the formation of small Christian communities groups of parishioners that meet in homes on a regular basis for scripture reflection, prayer, faith sharing, and spiritual encouragement. If you are interested in forming a new group in your neighborhood or joining an existing group, please call for assistance.
Any Christian who takes their relationship with Christ seriously must take time periodically for quiet reflection, renewal, and focused time with the Lord. Specific information about retreats will be published in the weekly bulletin. Retreat opportunities include:
ACTS is an acronym for Adoration, Community, Theology, and Service. These four themes are the main focus of the ACTS Retreat Weekends. Both Men's and Women's ACTS Retreats are offered yearly in the Fall.
The Prayer Retreat provides an opportunity for a weekend of quiet reflection, silence, and contemplation. This annual retreat for men and women takes place each spring.
Designed for married couples wanting to experience Gods presence in their marriage, the Couples Retreat can rekindle your love commitment to one another and to your God. This retreat is held annually in March at Mo-Ranch, in the beautiful Texas hill country.
Eucharistic Adoration is a world-wide practice of the Catholic faithful. At OLPH, this ministry provides an opportunity for anyone to spend time of prayer and meditation in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament exposed in a monstrance in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, located north of the main church entrance. Parishioners are asked to devote one hour per week to Perpetual Adoration. This Sacrament of Love is available and open to all from 8pm Sunday through noon Saturday. Cipher code for Chapel access is available upon request from Pastoral Center staff.
All adults are invited to join the Spirit of the Lord Charismatic Prayer Group in giving honor, glory, and praise to God. Meetings are held every Friday evening at 7pm in the Pastoral Center.
A Parish Lending Library of books and audio-visual materials is available for your enjoyment. Books covering a wide range of topics such as theology, spirituality, and personal growth and development are available for checkout for a two-week period. Located in the Pastoral Center, the Parish Lending Library is open Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4pm and on Sunday mornings.
The Ministry of Spiritual Direction involves the companioning of others in their search for God in their lives. OLPH is blessed to have qualified spiritual directors in its midst. If you have a desire to deepen your relationship with God and are interested in spiritual direction, you are invited to call for more information.
