The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick offers support to anyone facing a health challenge. The anointing with the oils of the sick brings strength, comfort, and courage to those who receive it. The sacrament is not limited to those near death but to anyone who is preparing for surgery, a serious medical procedure, long-term or terminal illness, or issues related to aging. The Anointing of the Sick is a prayer of healing, not only for our physical healing, but also for spiritual health, and for strength and courage to bear the burden of illness. Persons can receive the Sacrament of Anointing more than once. The sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is ideally, administered in a communal celebration. Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish offers a Liturgical celebration for Anointing of the Sick three times a year in the Fall, Winter and Spring.
