Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) offers a unique approach to the formation of children in the Catholic Faith.
CGS recognizes that there is a unique relationship between God and the young child.
In CGS, the adult (catechist) helps nurture the relationship between God and the child by preparing the space or the environment, called an Atrium.
In the Atrium, there are special, tangible materials that assist the child to encounter God. The catechist is a guide in the Atrium and the Holy Spirit is the director.

CGS is offered for the following ages:Level 1 - For 3 year old's-Kinder
"Help me do it myself." The theme for this level is the Good Shepherd who loves His sheep and gives everything for them.
Level 2 - For 1st - 3rd grade
The overall theme for this level is the image of Christ as the True Vine which focuses on both relationship and responsibility.
Level 3 - For 4th - 6th grade
The theme for this level is the Plan of God as worked out in the Bible and human history. This time is characterized as a time of "intellectual curiosity about the world and my place in it." -
How do I register my child for CGS?
- Registration for the 2025-26 RE year is now closed.
- 2026-2025 RE registrations will begin August 2016.
- Children registering must be 3 years of age by September.

When is Catechesis of the Good Shepherd offered?CGS Level 1 offered on:
- Sundays 9:30-11:00am
- Sundays 11:45-1:15pm
- Wednesdays 4:45-6:15pm
CGS Level 2 is offered on:- Sundays 9:30-11:30am
- Sundays 11:45-1:45pm
- Wednesdays 4:45-6:45pm
CGS Level 3 is offered on- Wednesdays 4:45-6:45pm
