Greetings,
OLPH CHRISTMAS PAGEANT 2023 INFORMATION!!!
1. Our OLPH Christmas Eve Mass will begin at 4 pm. The Prelude music will begin at 3:30 pm (instrumental) and the children will begin singing at 3:40 pm. The Christmas Pageant will be part of our Prelude music. After the Pageant, children will either move to the choir area to sing or return to their families. As always, plan to get to Church early for a good seat.
2. The Christmas Pageant is open to any child who is ready to sing and wants to participate. You know your child best, so if you have a 3-4 year old who loves to sing and wants to be a shepherd or angel, they are welcome to join us. Angels
and Shepherds can be any age and do not need to audition. All are welcome! We will need some animals for our Pageant. If your child is Kinder-1st grade and would like to be an animal, please let me know. We can have up to 5 animals,
so let me know sooner than later. These spots go quickly!
To sign up your child(ren) for the Pageant, please email Melissa Durham at MDurham1812@outlook.com with your child’s name, age/grade, part they would like (angel, shepherd, or animal).
Weekly Pageant practices will be on Wednesdays in the Church. Our youngest members will rehearse from 5:30
pm-6 pm. Our older children who are singing the full Mass will rehearse from 5:30 pm-6:15 pm. Here are our Wednesday practices dates: Nov. 1st, Nov. 8th, Nov. 15th, Nov. 29th & Dec. 6th, & Dec. 13th.
We will have 2 Saturday rehearsals from 9-10 am in the Church to run the entire Pageant and Mass on Dec. 9th & Dec. 16th. Thank you for marking your calendars.
FYI, we do not provide costumes, but Oriental Trading is a good source. Parents, feel free to email me other
good places you know for costumes and I will share via email to our participating families. Thank you!
3. If your child is 3rd -8th grade, they may audition for our Core Pageant team. These members have speaking parts. There are up to 5 Narrators, Joseph, Angel Gabriel, the innkeeper, and of course, our beloved Mary. Mary sings the 1 st verse of“Holy is His Name” as a solo, in addition to speaking 1 line. *If your child is interested in the part of Mary, please contact me asap and I will send you a recording of Holy is His Name to practice at home, prior to auditions.
Auditions for our Core Pageant team will be held at the following times in the Pastoral Center music room: Wed. Oct. 18th at 6:30 pm, Sat. Oct. 21st at 9 am, & Wed. Oct. 25th at 6:30 pm
The amount of time we need for auditions will be based on how many children participate, so please plan to stay during this time. If possible, please email me at MDurham1812@outlook.com with your child’s name, grade, and date they plan to come and audition. Thank you.
FYI, Core team practices are on Saturday mornings in the Church from 9-10 am on the following dates: Oct. 28th , Nov. 4th , Nov. 11th , Nov. 18th , & Dec. 2nd .
